Meet the Alta Homes Team

We are a family-owned Texas builder. The same people who answer the phone are the ones on site while your home goes up, and they are still here after you move in.

Dru Kahlenberg, CEO at Alta Homes

Dru Kahlenberg

CEO

Dru is a second-generation Texas developer from a family that has built and run its own businesses for generations, from manufacturing to land development and utilities. As CEO of Alta Homes, he signs off on every piece of land the company builds on and secures the financing behind every community, with a focus on disciplined growth, long-term financial strength, and building at a pace the company can stand behind. Dru believes a warranty only matters if the builder is still around, and keeping Alta that kind of company is his job. He lives in Montgomery County, in an Alta home he built, a few miles from the communities on this page.

Scott Gilbert

President

Scott is a residential construction executive with nearly two decades of experience leading homebuilding operations, land acquisition, construction, and product development. As President of Alta Homes, he leads the company's strategy and day-to-day operations with a focus on strong teams and vendor partnerships, efficient construction, homes designed around what buyers actually want, and an exceptional customer experience. Scott believes long-term success is built through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. He is passionate about making housing, construction, and market trends easier to understand for the people navigating them, starting with Alta's own buyers. If anything on this site does not match what you were told in person, he wants to hear about it.

Syvana Edwards, Home Advisor at Alta Homes

Syvana Edwards

Home Advisor

Syvana has walked hundreds of families through buying a new home, many of them for the first time, and she is usually the first person you talk to at Alta. As Alta's Home Advisor, she takes you through the floor plans, what is available right now, and what the monthly payment actually looks like in plain numbers, with a focus on finding the home that fits your life and your budget rather than the one that fits a sales target. Syvana believes the right home sells itself and the wrong one should never be sold. If a home is not right for you, she will tell you, even when it costs her a sale.

Andres Gutierrez, Project Manager at Alta Homes

Andres Gutierrez

Project Manager

Before a single trade sets foot on your lot, Andres has already been through the job. He scrubs every home before it is released to construction: the plans, the selections, the budget, and the schedule all get pressure-tested and fine-tuned so the build starts clean. Andres has built in Montgomery County his whole career, and most construction problems are really planning problems. He knows where they hide, and by the time your home breaks ground, the surprises have already been found.

Shelby Sessums, Construction Manager at Alta Homes

Shelby Sessums

Construction Manager

Shelby runs the build. She came up in the field, not behind a desk, and she owns the schedule on every Alta home from slab to handover, sequencing framers, plumbers, electricians, and finishers so no step gets rushed and no crew stands around waiting on another. She is on your lot at every stage, checking the work before the next layer covers it up, because a problem caught at framing is a simple fix and the same problem found at your walkthrough is not. If it would not pass in her own house, it does not pass in yours.

Michelle Farias, Quality Control and Warranty Manager at Alta Homes

Michelle Farias

Quality Control and Warranty Manager

Michelle inspects every home before it is handed over, and nothing closes until she has signed off. She has been doing this long enough to know the difference between a punch list that is closed and a punch list that is finished. After closing, she is the person you reach, and if something needs warranty work, she is the one standing in your home looking at it with you, not a ticket number in a call center. A warranty request is done when you say it is done, not when the file gets closed.

Ashley Meinecke, AP and Purchasing Manager at Alta Homes

Ashley Meinecke

AP and Purchasing Manager

Ashley buys the materials that go into every Alta home and pays the trades and suppliers who build it. That second part matters more than it sounds. Subcontractors send their best crews to builders who pay on time, and vendors return Ashley's calls first because she has never made anyone chase a check. She is also the reason your selections show up in your home exactly as you signed them. What you sign is what she orders, and what she orders is what gets installed.
